Kicking racism out of the sport
Kick racism out of sport, eh? After all the talk of the role of England captain John Terry this week, you might think that Steven Gerrard would have had a word with Luis Suarez pre-match, and surely Kenny Dalglish would have suspected something was in the air?
Is it time to stop the farce of the handshake before the teams take to the pitch to kick the crap out of each other? Although, of course, it could be very entertaining, imagine the commentary: “And he won’t be shaking his hand after having his manhood questioned and No.7 won’t shake No.5′s hand after the little matter of the hotel/wife insinuations and he will be ignoring him after that tweet that claimed he was a shit diver.”
Little boys in the playground who have to have their egos stroked. Political correctness forbids the voice of reason which would sound something like: “Now shake his hand or I’ll smack your legs”.
The only winner is Sir Alex as he once again proves that he can make capital out of anything.
