They are well equipped to go up this season and have a fighting mentality and immense team spirit
All credit to the manager and players at Southampton for arguably getting their best result in the last decade
These two, in football, are dying breeds, unfortunately. One-club players
We expected this team to turn up, to enjoy their day and to be overwhelmed and succumb to us. But this wasn’t the case
You were treated like dirt. “Get this, get that. Do this, do that.” But, looking back, I wouldn’t have had it any other way
What can we learn from this evening’s game? Here are 5 points to take away from the 90 minutes
They know their worth and are a pleasure to watch. They do exactly what everybody wants to see. They make the game look so simple
The influence of Lampard and Cole behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge, along with John Terry, is massive
The “Magic of the Cup” is still alive and kicking and it’s something I hope continues for years to come
He didn’t buy any of these players so is under no pressure to play them. He can play what he believes is his strongest team.
